Background
Christians Traveling Alone was begun as a result of a lonely Christian traveler who has spent years traveling alone around the world on business away from family, church and friends. During his travels I was faced with the common problems believers often face in a hotel room with the only companion being a television set and the local bar or nightclub.
I found the most effective way to deal with these challenges was to spend time studying the Word of God, exercising while listening to Bible tapes or Christian music and looking for a good Bible church in the area to be close to Christians.
I was inspired by need to find other Christians in similar situations and to ask them how they deal with being away from those that they love. In sharing with close friends I soon became aware that the problems and temptations I faced while away and struggled with were the same temptations that all believers faced when they are separated from the ones they love.
As any frequent business traveler knows it is almost impossible to be involved in any type of Christian ministry when work requires you to be away from home. During that time I was involved with another Christian brother in putting together Bible study minutes for a group at work every week for the past 3.5 years. I would put together and send in the Bible study notes from wherever I was in the world and found this kept me busy in a good work and kept me accountable to other believers. These notes were distributed to a small group of believers in Michigan and a small study group in California.
I found that these Bible study notes would sometimes find their way around the world as occasionally someone would tell me that they had sent these notes to other believers in countries around the world. I was encouraged to hear these reports but being a bit slow I didn't realize what God was doing in reaching other believers with His Word.

At the time I was frustrated and "Cried out to God" and asked the Lord to allow me to have a ministry in spite of frequently being away from home. I didn't think that I could be involved in a ministry in our church because I was gone so much. Then I received a phone call from my daughter who asked me if I could help her with Bible study notes for a small group at our church that she was involved in. My accountability increased as I began to support her study group with a study from the book of James. Then the light came on as God helped me realize that I was involved in a ministry by putting together with my brother these Bible study notes.
Then through my daughter the Lord sent another frequent traveler who was traveling alone who asked for prayer while he was away. He also was interested in learning more about the Bible. So I began to send him some of the Bible study notes that I had put together for our company.
Finally God connected the dots and helped me see that the time spent studying the Word and putting together Bible study notes was for perhaps a higher purpose. God was about to take these notes, frustrations and struggles to another level to help other Christians faced with the same problems.
It is the sincere desire of this "servant" of the Lord to link believers around the world and to encourage them to live a life of holiness while away from home. It is also the sincere desire of this believer to encourage other lonely travelers around the world to stay grounded in their faith by studying the Word of God and to stay "connected" to other believers who face the same struggles and challenges.
We honor God when we honor His Word and it is my desire to help and support all those who travel alone around the world through prayer support, travel tips and the study of the Word of God.
